Contrasting on a question about reading short stories, Stephanie G'Schwind has shared: "Well, I personally really like a story that's about 20 to 25 pages. I think a story of that pace somehow matches my biorhythms (whatever that means). But I've published stories much shorter than that and considerably longer than that. The summer 2009 issue has a very long story--some 40 pages, I think--by Robin Black ("The History of the World'). If I'd thought there was anything to be cut from it, I would have suggested it. But this story just took that long to tell. Maximum length? 45 pages? But it has to be worth it."
Grant Sisk in his own point: " I guess I'm too literal minded; I tend to think they should be in the 17-20 page range, but I've read some really long ones that weren't carrying any fat, so..."
